Español 3 - Course Description
Spanish 3...
...is an upper level language course that expands upon the foundation you built in your studies of Spanish 1 and 2. As you extend your use of the Spanish language and your knowledge of Spanish culture, you will continue to make connections with other subject areas, make comparisons with your own language and culture, use Spanish in your community, and participate in cultural events. Students completing this course should be able to read, write, speak, and understand intermediate language engagement and literary works that offer preparation for the AP level of study. *(This course is conducted primarily in Spanish.)
Learning Targets...
...include "can do" proficiencies that allow students to explore the Spanish language, culture, and linguistics concepts through the use of conversational activities, reading selections (poems, short stories, selections), and video lessons that provide for the exploration of cultural foods and preparations, fitness and exercise, life events, travel itineraries, cultural manners and differences, fine art and literature, contributions of Spanish speaker in the US, professions and occupations. Activities will incorporate the three modes of proficiency: Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational.
